The West Side neighborhood of Newark NJ has annual events in addition to the other cultural and social happenings. There are two main festivals every year – one in November, for Thanksgiving Day; and another on Memorial Day Weekend, for Independence Day.

There is also a festival that takes place annually at Branch Brook Park from May through October called “Branch Brook Alive with Nature” which includes activities like outdoor movies, concerts, and more! This event happens each day during springtime when there are no school or work obligations preventing people from going outside with their family members.
