Downtown is a neighborhood in Jacksonville FL located on the banks of the St Johns River. Downtown has many historic buildings, including Union Station and The Daily Record Building. There are also several art galleries, statues, museums(including Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville), restaurants (such as Blue Sky Kitchen) , and shops (such as Crazy Girl).
The Riverside Arts Market takes place each Saturday morning from April through November at EverBank Field parking lot. Shoppers can find handmade goods by local artists such as jewelry, clothing, pottery, paintings and more here. In addition to being able to purchase items there’s live music performed by musicians with all types of instruments! It’s always fun for people who like taking pictures too because there are many beautiful sights to see.
The Daily Record Building, which was used as a newspaper building from 1925-2011, has been converted into an office and retail space. One of the spaces is occupied by The Jacksonville Public Library’s downtown branch (located on the second floor). It occupies about 25% of the first level with around 45 public computers available for use. There’s also a small auditorium in one corner where various programs take place such as author readings, children story hour events, chess club meetings and more!
