History of Fairway Village a Neighborhood in Largo, FL

Fairway Village is a neighborhood in Largo, Florida. The name “fairway” means the area where golfers tee off on a course. This was likely chosen because of the nearby Raymond James Stadium which provides an aerial view of Clearwater Beach and Tampa Bay (the fairways). Originally Fairway Village consisted only of homes built by Nels Johnson but since then builders have begun to construct newer neighborhoods with larger lots for more privacy.

There are four major roads that cross through this subdivision: Country Club Drive, Park Boulevarde, Gulf Bayshore Road and Coachman Circle Road. Several new streets connect these main ones creating smaller subdivisions within the development all with their own unique character; Cypress Woods, Northwoods, Ridge Pointe and Oakwood.

The roads are wide enough to allow for a golf cart or scooter lane in the center of each one.

There is an on-site clubhouse that provides residents with activities such as dances, arts & crafts classes, exercise programs, luncheon meetings and more! The community also has two swimming pools: one indoor year round pool and one outdoor seasonal pool which offers fitness classes too. There are several playgrounds throughout the neighborhood catering to all ages from toddlers up through teens so there’s always something fun happening at Fairway Village!
