The Highlands is a neighborhood in the city of Waltham, Massachusetts. It’s bordered by Route 128 (I-95) to the south and east; North Main Street and Moody Street to the north; railroad tracks on both sides from Moody Street westward; and Quincy Avenue to the west.

The area was originally part of West Waltham until it separated into its own town then eventually annexed by Boston before becoming one with nearby Newton as we know today.
The Highlands are a mix of residential, commercial and industrial areas. The neighborhood is serviced by the Waltham Branch Library on Moody Street in between some homes and apartments. Businesses such as Dunkin’ Donuts, Burger King, IHOP, Staples Family Restaurant and many more can be found here which service both residents and commuters travelling through from Boston to Route 128 (I-95).
