Located on 110 acres of land, this campus includes one elementary school with an attached library/media center that can accommodate up to 700 children at once; two middle schools (Lincoln and Washington) which teach grades five through eight; and a newly-constructed high school building housing only ninth graders who are scheduled to move into their own facility in 2020. Each academic building within Rutherford has its own gymnasium as well as multiple computer labs fully equipped with smartboards, iPads, laptops, printers and more. Students have access to sports fields, a track, and playgrounds. They also have the opportunity to join clubs such as dance, photography, ultimate frisbee, anime/manga club or cooking class.
The Rutherford Public Library serves as an important gathering place in this community with over 50 years of history. The library offers free programs for all ages including crafts for children on Tuesdays; arts programming every Saturday; and yoga classes on Sundays at 11am. There is always something happening here! In addition to these ongoing activities there are special events like storytime that takes place every Wednesday morning from September through May as well as periodic StoryWalk tours led by local authors who share their writing process and answer questions about their work while walking participants around our beautiful neighborhood streets.
