-Totowa NJ is located in Passaic County, and is a borough of Paterson. It was created on April 13th, 1892 from the townships of Totowa and Woodland Township. The town’s name comes from the Indian word “tataven” meaning ‘dirt place’.

-The major attractions include: Garret Mountain Reservation which offers hiking trails for recreationists as well as numerous streams to fish; Stone Arch Bridge National Historic Site that spans across the Saddle River; Joseph A Delehanty Municipal Park with two soccer fields, four softball diamonds, two tennis courts and picnic tables overlooking Lake Dorene. There are also playgrounds for children including one designed specifically for younger kids called the Totowa Kidz Zone.

-Totowa is also home to the historic John J Wilcox House which was built in 1847 and designated a New Jersey State Historic Site on January 16th, 1968; it has been open to the public as a museum since 1967.
